Since the discovery of gold in 1850, thousands have been drawn to the call of the Kern River. A Hundred and fifty years later, the river still draws thousands each year who are captivated by its beauty and promise of adventure. The legendary Kern River awaits and no one makes it more accessible than Kern River Sequoia at Camp James. For over sixty years, we have hosted generations of families who have come to the river to get away from it all. Our little slice of heaven offers quick and easy access to the river and all of the many commodities that our valley has to offer. We bring the best that camping and the river has to offer.
Our goal is to give our campers the camping experience of their lives. With over seventy sites to choose from, you can lounge beside the river or kick back by our creek, and with several luxurious cabins, we have something for everyone. Our fully stocked Mercantile store comes fully loaded with most of what you need for camping including souvenirs, wood, ice, toiletries, and more! We pride ourselves on our slice of paradise, join us on the vacations you deserve.
